I feel bad saying "No bag" in English every time. Especially at those nicer shops.

Try "そのままで大丈夫です” （Sono mama de daijoubu desu) or if they ask if you need a bag, just say Kekkou desu or Daijoubu desu. Hand gestures like waving your hand also help. But the nicer shops might still give you a bag anyway 😅
