Some people will say you will regret it if you don't visit Kyoto. It's quite essential for understanding Japan, its history and culture. I thought it was amazing! And there's so much to see. But if you're not interested in shrines or temples, then it might not be for you...

Kyoto is beautiful and I would recommend it, especially in cherry blossom or autumn leaves season, but it is very crowded with tourists.
