Reporting to Financial Controller, the Tax and Treasury Accountant is responsible for providing technical and operational support to the business in relation to all treasury, financial reporting, tax compliance and administrative matters

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic leadership and ownership of the integration of the Treasury and Tax Accounting function, including processes, systems and tools.

Balance Sheet & asset accounting, including budgeting and forecasting:
• Plan and manage the annual and 5 year budgeting process for the Balance sheet
• Plan and manage the balance sheet commentary and reporting process.
• Partner with Finance Business Partner on the delivery of the monthly and annually group requirements
• Provide insightful, timeous financial and tax reporting
• Review and control of treasury and tax balance sheet reconciliation process

Specialist activities:
• Manage and deliver internal control systems and compliance
• Relevant financial and taxation legislation compliance
• Ensure CCBA Treasury mandates and strategies are executed and complied with
• Tax accounting: ensuring tax mandates and strategies are executed and delivered.
• Manage the Import and Export process, including complete compliance and timely execution of legislative requirements
• Coordinate year end audit reviews and liaising with external auditors on audit issues
• Develop and agree individual and Team performance standards and targets

Governance and internal controls: support the improvement of the control environment through application of governance policies and procedures

Manage the performance of outsourced service provider(s) performing activities for the financial accounting function.

Ensuring a continuous improvement mind set throughout the business.

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree (Finance/Accounting/Commerce)
• Chartered Accountant through membership with CIMA/ACCA/BICA or equivalent.

Experience:
• 3-5 Years relevant financial experience
• Manufacturing or FMCG environment advantageous
