ACCOUNTS CLERK

JOB TITLE: Accounts Clerk

REPORTS TO: The Factory Accountant

LOCATION: Kasungu, Shayona Cement Factory

THE POSITION: Full- time

PROBATION PERIOD: 6 Months

SCOPE OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Factory Accountant, the Accounts Clerk must be highly skilled in accounting and understand the basic workings of a company’s finances including accounts payable, accounts receivables and budgetary projections. Attention to detail and have the ability to consider the big picture of what the data is saying about the company’s finances.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

As an Accounts Clerk, you will be working in a fast paced, high-pressure environment where you will be expected to deliver the following:

Manage day to day financial transactions

Prepare financial data and submit monthly reports

Computer skills: Accounts Clerk should be comfortable using bookkeeping software and spreadsheets

Detailed oriented: Responsible for developing accurate financial records and reports

Pay attention to detail to avoid errors and recognize errors that have been made.

Integrity: In control of financial documentation for the organization and keep confidentiality of the information.

Accounting skills: Be ready to work with numbers on a daily basis and need to be comfortable with a range of mathematical operations.

Undertake monthly stock taking

GENERAL DUTIES

Maintain company asset register and ensure that all information is updated

QUALIFICATIONS

Have a Malawi School Certificate of Education

Have at least a Certificate in Financial Accounting or Diploma in accounting or related field
