DAPP Malawi is inviting suitably qualified and experienced persons to apply for various positions for the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded project which is to be implemented in Blantyre and Chiradzulu districts aiming at strengthening access to high quality and comprehensive services targeting adolescent and young people through Determined, Resilient, AIDS-Free Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) Program under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), a project called “Loto Langa” or “LoLa” in short.

The program includes several layers of interventions including Direct service delivery of HIV Testing and Family planning and condom promotion and distribution to for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), Social asset building and HIV Violence prevention of AGYW, Economic strengthening and educational support, Families Matter Program and Implementing the IMPOWER Program.

Position: Pharmacy Assistant (1)

Reports to District Clinical Services Supervisor

Job summary/ responsibilities:
• The Pharmacy Assistant is expected to do the following tasks, but not limited to: receive supplies, document and give out supplies to the appropriate teams.
• Supporting the district team with custody of all stocks, including of medical and non-medical supplies
• Ensuring availability of FP commodities in well documented stock cards with expiry dates.
• Ensuring accountability of supplies and commodities by all service providers.
• Liaising with the district team on the needs of Club facilitators and CBDAs and ensuring such needs are being met by the program management.
• Submitting monthly plans and reports in a timely manner.
• S/he ensure proper storage and correct temperatures of commodities stored, and ensures that supplies do not expire under his/her watch.
• Making timely requisitions so that no stock outs are experienced by the field team.
• S/he plans and coordinates distribution of supplies to DREAMS layers service providers and that all supplies received and given out are recorded accordingly.

Key Performance Areas
• Conducting assessment on storage and distribution of commodities by field team (CBDAs)
• Supporting and orienting the distributing staff on proper storage of commodities.
• Preparing and submitting monthly plans and reports.
• Raising timely requisitions so that no stock outs are experienced by the field team.

Qualification and Experience
• A minimum qualification of Malawi School Leaving Certificate
• At least 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
• Registered with Pharmacy, Medicines and Poisons Board
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams with multiple expertise.
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient writing and verbal communication skills;
• Excellent writing and documentation skills
• Experienced in stock management
• Experienced in disposal management of drug and medical equipment and accessories
• Ready to start work at short notice
