The Program in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at Colgate University invites
applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in the Social Sciences,
beginning fall semester 2023. The position is open to any social science discipline with the exception of history, and the geographical focus is open to any part of the Muslim world, broadly defined. A Ph.D. is required at the time of hire or shortly after hire. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all-university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.

Review of applications will begin March 31 and continue until the position is filled. Application materials should include a cover letter, a CV, a diversity/inclusivity statement as part of a teaching statement, and the names of two of individuals who would be prepared to submit reference letters at a later date. Please also include evidence of teaching effectiveness (such as student evaluations of teaching, peer observations, etc.).
