My client, a asset management firm with global presence, is actively seeking a hands on Equity Derivatives Application Support Specialist. As a member of their Equity Derivatives Technology team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, functionality, and efficiency of their trading applications.

Responsibilities:
• Application Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equity derivatives trading and risk management applications, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operation. Monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues, and escalate critical incidents to appropriate teams as necessary.
• Incident Management: Investigate and resolve application-related incidents, working closely with traders, risk managers, and developers to minimize downtime and mitigate risks. Document incident details, root causes, and solutions to contribute to the knowledge base.
• System Maintenance: Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including application upgrades, patching, and configuration changes. Coordinate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new releases and enhancements.
• Trade Support: Assist front-office users with trade-related inquiries, including trade capture, pricing, and trade lifecycle management for equity derivatives products. Collaborate with trading desks and operations teams to resolve trade-related issues promptly.
• Risk Management: Monitor and support risk management systems for equity derivatives trading. Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of risk measures, such as Greeks, VaR, and stress testing. Collaborate with risk management teams to address risk-related issues and enhance risk models and methodologies.
• Market Data Management: Monitor and manage market data feeds and integration with trading and risk systems. Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of market data and address any data quality issues.
• Monitoring and Alerting: Implement and maintain monitoring tools to proactively identify potential issues or performance bottlenecks. Monitor system logs, performance metrics, and trade flows to ensure optimal application performance and adherence to service level agreements.
• Change Management: Collaborate with development teams to review, test, and deploy application changes and enhancements. Follow change management processes and ensure proper documentation and communication of changes to stakeholders.
• Vendor Management: Liaise with software vendors and external service providers to address application-related issues, coordinate upgrades and support, and ensure compliance with service level agreements.
• User Support and Training: Provide technical assistance and guidance to end-users, including traders, risk managers, and operations teams. Develop user documentation and conduct training sessions to enhance user understanding and proficiency with equity derivatives trading and risk management applications.
• Incident Prevention and Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis of major incidents, identify trends, and implement preventive measures to enhance system stability and performance. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in post-incident reviews.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in application support within the financial industry, with a focus on equity derivatives trading applications.
• Strong knowledge of options required
• Strong knowledge of equity derivatives market structure, trading workflows, and risk management principles.
• Solid understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python).
• Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Familiarity with market data feeds and protocols (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, FIX).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks, while also being a proactive team player.
• Knowledge of ITIL principles and experience with incident management and change management processes is a plus.
