MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS (Duties include but are not limited to the following):

Based in Hong Kong, he/ she will be part of a legal team and support Christie's Asia Pacific Legal team and report to the Deputy General Counsel, APAC.

• Drafting seller’s agreements using global templates

• Conducting copyright clearance for Asian Art department, reporting to Global Copyright Manager and supervising contract copyright clearance administrator

• Managing the trade mark portfolio of Christie’s in Asia including liaising with external law firms, managing deadlines of trade mark filing, etc.

• Handle internet trade mark infringement and other similar matters including drafting legal letters to trade mark infringers and liaising with Internet Service Providers

• Draft demand letters to debtors using templates

• Assist the legal team with projects such as setting up filing and tracking systems/precedent databases, etc.

• Provide administrative support to the Legal Team (diary management/travel arrangements/word processing/process law firm bills etc.)

• Organize signing of documents, circulation & uploading onto word share or document-share systems

• Prepare, review and draft simple agreements such as freelancer engagement/non-disclosure agreements, etc.

• Liaise and co-ordinate with other departmental staffs as necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• 4 + years legal secretarial or paralegal experience in a leading international company or international law firm within a commercial environment

• Solid experience in supporting senior counsels for legal related matters, e.g. preparing and handling standard sponsorship agreement, non-disclosure agreement, legal research and letters of demand

• Team player and ability to work independently

• Highly flexible and adaptive to rapid changes in the working environment

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills

• Detail-oriented and self-motivated

• Excellent command of both spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin

• Excellent command of MS Office (Word track changes, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, Chinese Word Processing are pre-requisites
