Position: Business Development Manager – North Central US – KLUS, LLC

Remote Location: Candidate must live in area within driving distance of major market in upper Midwest region of US (Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Minneapolis, St Louis, Kansas City for example)

The Business Development Manager-North Central, will have a lighting industry background with a proven track record of growing sales with existing customers and developing new business. The candidate will be well versed in specification sales and lighting agency business models. This position will report to the Director of Sales and will be responsible for the education, training and motivation of lighting representatives as well as consulting with lighting designers and architects. The attributes we are looking for include being a creative thinker, problem solver and relationship builder. Position requires up to 60% travel within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

· Develop and implement a territory sales goal focused on share gain through independent representatives.

· Train agency personnel and make joint sales calls on lighting designers, architects, engineers and other influencers

· Pro-actively follow up on quotes and major projects on a consistent basis

· Solicit new accounts in strategic vertical markets

· Exceed assigned sales targets

· Work with other KLUS department personnel to guarantee a differentiated and high-quality experience for all constituents

· Attend trade shows, agency events and other territory functions

· Provide feedback on competitors, competitive products and industry trends

· Effectively manage administrative duties such as call reports, expense reports and assigned projects

· Proficient in the use of Microsoft software and SAP CRM is a plus

Requirements

· 3-5 years in lighting sales

· Bachelor’s degree in related discipline

· Knowledge of LED technologies and products

· Strong communication and leadership skills
