WHAT YOU'LL DO

Office management assistants take care of internal and external correspondence, are familiar with presentations, procure office supplies, schedule and monitor appointments, prepare meetings, and organize business trips. They handle office and business processes using suitable software and take on coordination and organizational tasks. They also build and maintain relationships and cooperate with internal and external partners.

Did you know that office management assistant has been a recognized training profession for only four years? It replaces the professions of office administration assistant, office communications assistant, and office communications specialist.

Your internship will start on September 1, 2023. You’ll work in our very centrally located Berlin office and attend vocational school in block classes. During your internship, you will gain insights mainly into the areas of office management, reception, event management, purchasing, and administration but you will also work closely with our executive assistants.

What you can expect during your internship with us:
• You’ll maintain a close interface with our teams, sit in on meetings, and create cross-functional documents.
• You’ll get extensive insights into different areas of the company and their topics through regular department changes.
• You’ll become a contact person for BCG employees as well as for internal and external service providers, and you’ll learn how to handle office management and project-related processes. Preparing information and presenting results will come easily to you over time.
• You’ll gain extensive knowledge in the focus area of your internship: assistant and secretarial work. Among other things, you will learn how to schedule appointments, prepare meetings, and manage all means of communication. You’ll become experienced in the Microsoft Office programs (including PowerPoint) and our intranet.
• You’ll perform office management procedures and learn self- and time-management methods to continually improve yourself and your work. Finally, you’ll work on exciting projects and events, either independently or as part of a team.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
• You have good organizational skills, combined with a high level of self-motivation, and you enjoy service-oriented work and digital solutions.
• You stand out with your team spirit and your willingness to go the extra mile for your colleagues.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
• You have a high school diploma, university entrance qualification, or equivalent with good grades, especially in the majors German, English, and math, along with Microsoft Office skills.
• You have ideally already gained some commercial experience through internships or part-time jobs, where you may have already learned how to keep a cool head even when working on multiple tasks in parallel.
• You are a strong communicator (both verbal and written), persuasive, and comfortable talking to your colleagues in English on occasion.

YOU'LL WORK WITH

You’ll work in an open-minded, friendly, and dynamic team, get to know many different company departments, and learn hands-on how to perform a wide variety of tasks. In addition to the many colleagues who will support you with professional and practical advice, you will be accompanied throughout the entire internship by a trainer and a member of the HR department
