Main Duties and Responsibilities Carry Out Routine Sampling And Testing Analysis Operation Supervise Laboratory technicians to carry out the duties described below and be able to carry out these duties too when required e g during busy schedules shift cover etc Prepare for sampling and obtain representative samples Maintain integrity of samples before analysing Prepare for sample testing analysis Prepare sample for test analysis Conduct test analysis Record test analysis results within appropriate documentation Provide training and guidance to laboratory technicians as required Prepare Laboratory ing and sampling procedures Build competency levels of laboratory staff across Company s Sites Maintain safe and healthy conditions in the working environment Follow incident and emergency procedures as required Limit the damage to persons or property in the event of an accident or emergency Ensure That Laboratory And Field Test-Equipment Is Calibrated And Maintained Identify calibration requirements for Laboratory and field test equipment Monitor adherence to calibration requirements Calibrate equipment arrange for calibration of equipment as required Report and record calibration details within appropriate documentation Liaise with external vendors as required Control Stocks Of Equipment Materials And Chemicals Required For Laboratory And Plant Order stocks pro-actively to maintain minimum levels based on sampling programmes Follow up on stock orders to ensure delivery dates are maintained Receive and store stock as required Optimize stock usage to maintain levels at all times Communicate Information Written And Orally Accurately Concisely And Promptly Supply information for specific purposes tasks Communicate with Engineers Process Supervisors peers and external parties accurately concisely and promptly Monitor and Maintain Pollution Control Measures Unplanned discharges to the environment are identified halted where possible and reported according to policy procedure and regulations Relevant PPE is used to deal with unplanned discharges using company procedures Equipment waste or other materials for disposal are dealt with according to the correct procedure Environmental protection and pollution control are enforced effectively with colleagues subordinates and subcontractors Carry Out Emergency Response role Demonstrate competence during Emergency Response drills and training exercises Requirements Education Qualification in Chemistry requiredJob Knowledge Skills Experience Previous experience in the above-mentioned role in the hydrocarbon processing industry Practical experience of Permit to Work Testing Standards and Risk Assessments Personal Safety aware Positive assertive conscientious Able to work well with all levels of personnel Leadership Good levels of written and spoken communication Shows initiative Good presentation skills Able to provide training to laboratory technicians Technical Analytical good standard of technical and professional knowledge of safety systems and hazards of hydrocarbon and utility systems COSHH awareness IT Use standard MS Office package and electronic mail system Working Conditions ROTATION 5 Weeks On 5 Weeks OffOnly qualified candidates will be contacted
