Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Superintendent to join our team! In this role you will get to oversee and manage various construction packages at the Faro Mine Remediation Project.

What You'll Be Doing:
• Support the Director and Project Managers in implementing and meeting the schedule, controlling costs, and delivery of work of our Subcontractors during construction work packages.
• Responsible for timely communication with all cross functional managers and support staff on the Faro Project Team.
• Provides continuous hands-on coordination and field supervision of all construction operations, including subcontractors and other construction related personnel.
• Directs personnel in the planning, scheduling, and execution of work on time, within budget, and the highest standards of workmanship.
• Promotes workplace safety and environmental excellence while meeting and exceeding the owner’s expectations.
• Is the leader on his/her assigned projects and is ultimately responsible for its operational success.
• Reviewing the plans and specifications to build project schedules, identify any potential scope gaps and submit RFIs to clarify constructability items. Scheduling pre-construction site meetings with all trade partners to review the site conditions and schedules.
• Attending all pre-construction meetings, project progress meetings and any company held safety, quality, environmental and informational meetings.
• Leading onsite toolbox talk meetings as required.
• Updating of the 2-3 week look-ahead schedules weekly, and identifying items for the Constraints Log.
• Knowing all aspects of the current plans, specs and notes throughout the most up to date construction set.
• Daily tracking of all long lead items, plan revisions, submittals and updating Project Management of any and all onsite condition changes or constraints.
• Coordinating with Project Management any and all changes or RFIs by marking and red-lining plans with this updated information daily.
• Coordinating all onsite trade changes to the marked-up drawings.
• Planning and scheduling to ensure the project progresses according to the schedule’s hard milestones, as well as tracking and coordinating all labor and material costs.
• This position is based at the Faro mine site and is a rotational position.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
• At least 10 years’ cumulative demonstrated Construction work experience related to the construction industry, demonstrating either 10 years in a senior role or progressively more senior roles across the duration of the duration of the resource’s experience;
• At least 3 years in the last 10 years demonstrating the resource’s experience as a team lead / as a supervisor;
• At least three (3) projects or three (3) years’ combined experience, in the last 5 years demonstrating the resource’s experience in effectively managing a large number of subcontractors and coordinating construction work;
• At least three (3) projects, or three (3) years’ combined experience in the last 5. 5+ years demonstrating the resource’s experience in overseeing the development of project budgets, schedules, and progress reports.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
• Completion of a diploma or degree in Civil/Construction Engineering program;
• Project Management Professional certification or equivalent;
• 10 years or more of demonstrated Project Management work experience related to the construction industry;
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and reviewing work package / project delivery components including administration, document control, project control, staff planning, supply chain management, construction and pre-commissioning;
• Demonstrated experience in ensuring overall project scope of services is performed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner that meets or exceed client expectations;
• Demonstrated experience in managing greenfield or brownfield projects;
• Demonstrated experience in managing project-specific change and risk management systems.
