Task description:
To provide companionship and support, foster positive psychological
well being and to create a feeling of home and belonging by building
relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Report to Team Leader upon arrival.
• Take direction from Team leader while on assignment.
• Report priority information to team staff.
• Follow recommendation given by the Recreational Therapist for activities considered suitable for Resident.
Skills needed:
• Patience, understanding of resident with cognitive and physical limitations including dementia.
• Listening and communication with diverse populations.
• Reliability, willingness to accept supervision and physically able to push/assist residents in wheelchairs.
Time commitment: 6 months or more
