Kivalliq School Operations invites applications for the following position:

The status of this position is: Term

Teacher – Grades K - 12

Key Assignment(s): Music Teacher

The position is 1.0 PY (full-time position.)

School Description:. Sakku School has a population of approximately 315 students in a K - 12 setting with a staff of 30.

[b]Required qualifications:
• Bachelor of Education degree
• Teaching certification acceptable for Nunavut teaching certificate

In the event that there is no successful candidate this position may be offered as a one year term under Letter of Authority Certification.

[b]Desired qualifications:[/b]
• Experience and / or training with current assessment methods
• Evidence of differentiated instruction and inclusive practices
• Experience and / or training in classroom management practices and the development of positive learning environments (eg. Restitution, Tribes, Positive Effective Behavior Supports, etc.)
• Cross-cultural and/or northern teaching experience
• Evidence of training and / or experience in the area of Balanced Literacy
• Training and / or teaching experience in an ESL environment
• Evidence / experience building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, stakeholders
• Experience in teaching Music
• Experience in working as a collegial member of the overall school team and to plan for students using a collaborative approach

Salary and Nunavut Northern Allowance: The salary for certified applicants ranges from $80,791 prorated/annum to $126,679 prorated/annum. The Nunavut Northern Allowance for Coral Harbour is $23,292 prorated/annum.
