Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift

The Maintenance Technician will assist the maintenance supervisor in the maintaining of the facility, delivery of projects in a timely manner, training of maintenance technicians to strengthen the teams core skill sets, helping to structure the shop layout and cleanliness, and support production team needs.

Location city, state: Websterville, VT

Hours: 3rd Shift - 9:00p-5:30a, Monday - Friday, some weekends and holidays may be required based on business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety and quality:
• Champion of safety and quality for all staff.
• Complies with all safety policies, procedures and established safe practices and ensures that all department employees do the same. Resolves all unsafe conditions and actions.
• Trains, develops, and monitors the safety practices (including PPE) of employees through regularly scheduled safety meetings, one on one development, reminders, and disciplinary recommendations, if necessary. Conducts safety training, emergency procedures, accident reporting and investigation.
• Ensures after repairs to leave a clean, orderly and sanitized production area.
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals including root cause analysis and focused improvement initiatives within the department.
• Collaborates with Creamery Supervisors, Managers, Safety, Quality, and Maintenance management.

Maintenance Tasks:
• Ensure that our required safety and GMP practices are being followed at all times.
• Trains and oversees departmental maintenance and repair of Creamery equipment. Manages completion of repairs per manufacturer’s specifications.
• Plan, perform and/or oversee preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Plan and perform routine system evaluations of mechanical equipment, identifying performance trends or issues and recommending courses of action.
• Resolves equipment malfunctions by identifying the root cause and taking corrective action.
• Design and fabricate changes to equipment to enhance process performance.
• Effective time management around ongoing project lists with timely deliveries including prioritization and regular status updates to Maintenance and Production Supervisors.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations on projects.
• Develop procedures for preventive maintenance of process systems and equipment.
• Develop and conduct training modules.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Must have the proper project/fabrication education and experience. (Ex. College degree, applicable fabrication experience, applicable project management experience)
• Must have sufficient years of experience in a manufacturing environment to be a fully trained, advanced maintenance technician with knowledge of all manufacturing equipment, packaging equipment, and building systems.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills for all manufacturing equipment, packaging equipment, and building systems.
• Strong mechanical industrial skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to reach, handle or feel, talk, and hear.
• While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Ability to occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs and 26- 150 lbs with assistance of equipment.
• Use of safety glasses and steel toed shoes.
