Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

Working closely within a multidisciplinary team of research investigators, the Web Programmer/ System Developer designs, builds, administers, and maintains content-rich websites. This includes sophisticated features, views, displays, widgets, and addresses the usability of existing tools and systems that the research team has developed for various grant funded projects to meet the needs and demands of clients, providers, and funders.

Work includes creating web content using a high level of design and communication skills to develop, maintain, and support websites, development of wireframes and templates, customizing design, and enabling sites to be responsive in content management platforms, as well as linking websites to data management tools such as REDCap. Ensures that web content is relevant and is kept up to date.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in information science or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in web site design, development and maintenance. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:
• Demonstrated technical expertise in web visual design, typography, navigation, and/or information architecture and usability.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress and/or CMS.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of current web development and graphic design technologies, such as WordPress, Dreamweaver or equivalent, HTML, web design application, Photoshop, InDesign and/or page layout applications. Demonstrated experience in designing and coding CSS standard-compliant web sites.
• Experience with MAC OS and Windows OS.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with social media integrations.
• Demonstrated experience in developing interactive features and design elements, slide shows, video, audio, RSS feeds, or other multimedia technologies.
• Demonstrated experience meeting web accessibility standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with current publishing design technologies.
• Previous experience with PHP, Javascript, jQuery, ajax, HTML, Semantic UI and SQL.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
