At UNICEF COLOMBIA we work to generate positive changes in the lives of children and adolescents. Our current work plan runs from 2021 to the end of 2024 and aims to ensure that children and adolescents enjoy their rights through equitable access to social services, improve their learning and live protected from all types of violence.

We work throughout Colombia, with special focus on the departments where children have fewer opportunities: Chocó, Cauca, Nariño, Antioquia, Córdoba, Amazonas, Putumayo, La Guajira, Caquetá, Atlántico, Arauca and Norte de Santander.

• *Purpose of the Position**

The Health & Nutrition Officer provides professional technical assistance and support for programme/project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of programme/project activities, including data analysis, progress reporting, knowledge networking and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with Health & Nutrition programme goals and strategy.
• *Summary of key functions/accountabilities:**

• The integration of prevention, screening and treatment of uncomplicated wasting in communities through the implementation of Simplified Approaches Implementation of the simplified treatment of malnutrition

• Implementation of Essential Nutrition Interventions

• Implementation of Smart surveys and emergency response

• Prevention of overweight and obsessed- Novo Nordisk partnership

• Implementation of the Healthy Lifestyles Strategy

• Elaboration of guidelines for identification and treatment of children at risk of malnutrition

• Breastfeeding counseling
• *To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…**

- A University degree in Public Health and Nutrition, Child Development, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines.
- One year of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation monitoring and evaluation of health programmes. Professional work experience in a programme management function or a technical expert capacity in child survival & health care. Background/familiarity with Emergency.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) or a local language is an asset.
