The Department of Nutrition and Food Science (NFS) was stablished in 1965 with a degree in Foods and Nutrition. The program has options in Science and Technology, Culinology(R), and a general option with emphases in Plant Based Foods and Nutrition, Bussines, and Pre:professional. Position description:
Teaching:The new faculty member will be expected to teach and develop a selection of undergraduate and graduate level courses within the Food Science and Technology (FST) curriculum, including but not limited to the following undergraduate courses: Introduction to Food Science and Technology (for majors and non:majors), Unit Operations for Food Processing (I and II), Introduction to Plant Based Functional Foods, Effect of Processing on Plant Based Foods, and Design and Data Analysis in Food Science. Service:The new faculty member will be expected to participate in undergraduate student advising. Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
University teachingexperiencecommensurate with evidence of teaching excellence and/or understanding of higher education pedagogy
Experience supervising undergraduate and graduate research
Academic research or industrial experience specifically in the area of plant:based processing technologies
Active involvement in professional societies in the field of Food Science and Technology
