The Department, which serves over 700 students majoring in Aerospace Engineering, provides a comprehensive education that includes in-depth instruction in aerodynamics, aircraft and spacecraft structures, flight mechanics, orbital mechanics, aerospace propulsion, systems engineering, and the design of aerospace vehicles.U.S. News and World Reportranked Cal Poly Pomona Aerospace Engineering Department 4th in the nation in 2020 (tied with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University--Prescott ) among institutions offering BS and MS degrees in aerospace engineering.
