Salary Range: $80,000-$82,488 Annual
California State Polytechnic University, Pomonainvites applications for a tenure track faculty ASSISTANT PROFESSOR position in the Landscape Architecture Department in an area related to the study and/or promotion of Landscape Architecture (Ethnic Studies Affinity) through an ethnic studies lens. Since its founding in 1938, Cal Poly Pomona students have participated in an integrative experiential learning education that is inclusive, relevant, and values diverse perspectives and experiences. Integrates the values of equity and inclusivity into their teaching, scholarship and/or service contributions with diverse student populations;
2. Engages in community-responsive action research or service with diverse student populations and communities;
9. Has experience in or demonstrates a commitment to adopting experiential learning activities and pedagogy with diverse student populations and communities; and
10. We demonstrate academic quality, relevance, and excellence through the teaching, learning, scholarship, and creative activities of our student-centered faculty. The Ethnic Studies Affinity Faculty, and the resources to support them, are a key element of CPP’s ongoing efforts to ensure the flourishing of our diverse students and faculty and be the leading inclusive polytechnic university in the nation. All faculty are expected to contribute to three academic roles: teaching, service to the department and university, and advancing Landscape Architecture through research, scholarship, and/or creative activities. Advanced degree must be completed by the start of the appointment;
Teaching experience (this could include experience as a teaching assistant), and/or professional experience in landscape architecture or a related field relevant to the position description;
Potential to advance the academic knowledge and/or practice of Landscape Architecture through research, scholarship, and/or creative activities as described in the positions;
Potential to develop and teach courses related to the position in both the BSLA and MLA programs; and
A Student Success Statement that demonstrates applicant’s commitment to and/or record of contributions through teaching, scholarship, and/or service, by addressing at least two of the Inclusive Excellence criteria listed above (statement is limited to 2 pages). A completed application will consist of:
Statement of Interest describing the candidate’s experience and interests in teaching, research, scholarly or creative activities, and service that addresses the duties and qualifications articulated in the position description listed; candidates interested in both positions must apply for each position separately and tailor their Statement of Interest (maximum of two pages, single-spaced) to each position respectively;
Student Success Statement about the candidate's teaching or other academic and professional experiences, successes, and challenges in working or engaging with a diverse student population responding to at least two of the inclusive excellence criteria (one to two pages, single-spaced
