Vivientes.org Is a social initiative that is located in Ecuador Coast. Our facility is located in the natural reserve just 5 minutes away to the most famous beach of Ecuador- Montañita.
We have over Fifty years of experience working with ancestral communities in diverse areas of actions such as: Teaching English to empower Youth, Building with Sustainable Materials such as Bamboo, Empowerment of women's though the manufacture of handicraft made by Natural fibers and Marketing and social media for communitarian initiatives.

In addition, all of our volunteers come with a plan of action where your work is linked to the future plans, so we can construct and empower step by step thanks to your effort!
What will you do as a volunteer?
We have three areas of action.
• Kids Empowerment though English Classes: We use IMMERSIVE & EXPERIENTIAL learning to impact in Kids and Youth. Our goal is to prepare them to not be afraid to speak and use the language as a tool for their live.
• Eco Building with bamboo - creating spaces for ecotourism with low environmental impact. Most of the projects are located in the path to the waterfall and natural pools. So the community can use this infrastructure for ecotourism
• Product design - Development of natural fiber products made by the communities. Marketing and sales. You will meet a group of women's that make beautiful handicraft. We develop new products as well as marketing ideas and design for better distribution & sales.
How long it last?
We have two options programs:
- One-week intense program: You will have to spend 1 or 2 more hours per day to archive project goals.
- Two-week regular program. More easy going than the intense in Both programs you have free time after lunch to explore the Beach, Mountain and town.
- For One month, programs are only available for Master & PhD Thesis. For that, please email karen@vivientes.org
How Much it cost?
We keep the support fee low thanks to the support of our collaborators. Therefore, we host small groups. Apply early. Sometimes last minute vacancy
• One-week intense program ($140)
• Two weeks regular program ($240)
The FEE of the programs include:
• Shared Accommodation (single bed, hot water, Wi-Fi, air conditioner, private kitchen, access to lounge areas)
• Transport from Vivientes Station to the Community work area
• Program materials
• Certificate
The FEE of the program's NOT include:
• Transportation from or to the Airport (From Guayaquil Airport: Direct Bus $7, Taxi $90 - $120)
• Meals or any kind of food (you can cook your meals or get the community lunch for $3)
Working hours - 30 hours per week.
Everyday free time after lunch to explore the area.
Arrival Date - 1sr / 3rd Monday of every month
