Who You Are

As a Staff Equipment Engineer, you'll play a critical role in achieving our safety, quality, and production goals. With your technical expertise and leadership skills, you'll be the go-to person for addressing a diverse set of challenges. You'll work with a team of experts from across Sila to efficiently solve production issues and suggest improvements to equipment design and control. Your role in our long-term success will be to lead improvements in process throughput, performance, reliability, and safety. Responsibilities and Duties
• Provide engineering support for manufacturing equipment. Get passionate about firefighting, analyzing, and addressing operational challenges.
• Review quality non-conformances and work with manufacturing and external teams to develop appropriate response strategies.
• Analyze production performance, investigate upset conditions, lead RCAs, and implement corrective actions to maintain high overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Lead the development and optimization of production equipment.
• Provide feedback to equipment design teams to affect future equipment design
• Serve as a key manufacturing representative on teams developing the next generation of production tools and processes.
• Effectively collaborate with multiple teams to lead the implementation and management of scalable manufacturing systems that drive efficiency, quality, reliability and safety.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
• Minimum of 5-7 years of related manufacturing experience in the semiconductor, PV, chemical, pharmaceutical, battery industry or similar.
• Bachelor's degree or higher with a focus in industrial, chemical, mechanical engineering or similar field.
• Demonstrated technical understanding and ability to solve sophisticated production equipment.
• Strong experience collaborating with manufacturing systems (e.g. MES, SPC, ERP, etc.) and proven application of structured problem solving methods.
• Experience applying strong data analytics skills to assess production processes.
• Experience leading project teams and/or managing medium to large scale project
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
• Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection daily
• Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
• Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
• Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
• Reach low shelves or items on the floor
• Enter spaces narrower than 3 feet
• Climb stairs or over containment walls
• Precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities
• Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location
• Apply established protocols in a timely manner
• Complete tasks in a noisy environment
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Standing in a stationary position 80% of the time

The starting base pay for this role is between $108,000 and $167,750 at the time of posting. The actual base pay within these ranges depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila's competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future
