Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position. Our primary offices are located in Phoenix, Atlanta, DC, and Minneapolis.

Senior Government Consultant – LTSS/SUD Reimbursement Specialist

What can you expect?
• The Senior Government Consultant (Fee-for-Service Reimbursement Specialist) will be a Principal in GHSC who will lead and manage relationships and engagements that are focused on the development of fee schedules in Medicaid fee-for-service programs. This may include long-term services and supports (LTSS), substance use disorders reimbursement, or facility reimbursement such as inpatient/outpatient hospital services and nursing facilities
• The individual in this role will collaborate across levels and specialty groups (sectors) to ensure that the project is completed with a high level of client satisfaction, as well as on time and within budget and scope
• Clients are primarily state Medicaid agencies and divisions within the agencies, (i.e., Acute Care, Substance Abuse, Long-Term Care, Developmentally Disabled, Managed Care and Fee-For-Service departments or SUD)
• Responsibilities include client management, client engagement and satisfaction, new and expanded business development, contract negotiation and scope, project management and team management

What you need to have:
• BA/BS degree
• Minimum 15 years of relevant LTSS OR SUD consulting experience required with 5 years of recent experience in governmental health care
• Minimum 5 years leading client relationships including acting as the relationship manager for all projects performed for a client as well as managing contract compliance
• Minimum 8 years’ knowledge and experience with Medicaid HCBS programs, including rate and/or reimbursement development
• Experience developing rate models for HCBS waiver programs
• Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement for LTSS OR SUD, which may include cost reports or supplemental reporting forms

The applicable base salary range for this role is $115,200 to $230,400.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
