Job Description
Join our affiliate TotalEnergies Petrochemicals & Refining in Brussels !
The energy sector has become a crucial issue for the European Union. As a major player on the international scene, the European Union has committed itself to a vast plan to reduce its CO2 emissions (Green Deal) in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. At the same time, the invasion of Ukraine has highlighted its vulnerability to Russia in particular, and has committed the European Union to developing emergency measures to reduce its dependence without calling into question its environmental objectives. To address these two issues, it is currently adopting some 50 regulations or directives and 500 implementing texts, in addition to numerous strategic communications on energy policy, industrial policy and the environment, while preparing for the renewal of the leadership of its institutions in mid-2024. The texts, upstream of the national legislation, affect all activities, historical or in development, of TotalEnergies in Europe, including trading and finance, as well as those conducted outside Europe. Like the major energy companies, many NGOs and trade associations of which the Company is a member have a representative office in Brussels.
The European Public Affairs Department represents the Company's interests and actively promotes its goal of becoming one of the world's top five renewable electricity producers and its Net Zero 2050 ambition in Europe, as part of its new global climate ambition. TotalEnergies is positioned among the European leaders in electric mobility through its charging station targets and its partnership in ACC for batteries. TotalEnergies is also a world leader in gas and LNG, one of the main transition energies, n°1 in European refining and a leader in fuel distribution with the ambition to become one of the European leaders in low-carbon energies for mobility.
