Our client is looking for a deputy CSR Director to join their Sustainability / CSR team to be based in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The role will include the management of the Environment, Forestry and Social Governance of their operations. This is a great position with very high potential for the right candidate.

Job Description
Redefine and implement the CSR policies
Develop new projects and safeguarding relationship with national and international partners
Significant stakeholder management (internally and externally)
Full end to end responsibility for maintaining certification, implementing the social strategy, and development of carbon projects
Environment and social studies and research
Responsible for maintaining the FSC certification for all forestry concessions and leading/ensuring annual certification audits
Lead dual certification project with newly developed PAFC certification for Congo Basin
Improve Indigenous Communities engagement in villages in and around our concession
Lead the team of Social Communicators and identify innovative ways of communicating with the communities
Implementation of Fauna protection strategy
Innovate Wildlife Protection strategy
Handling the healthcare strategy for the company's hospital, clinics, healthcare projects and campaigns
Collaborate with international research institutes for strategic projects on Forestry and Environment
Lead the longest existing REDD+ project for successful generation of VCU
Develop new projects for carbon sequestration in Forestry, Wood Processing or Energy Generation
Lead discussions with consultants and standardising bodies
Act as the face of the organisation in the complex regulatory environment.
Manage the regulatory environment, constantly keeping in touch with the important stakeholders in Ministries, NGOs, Regional Working Groups

Strong stakeholder management expertise
Audit and certification knowledge and experience
Communication and engagement experience
Planning, project management and strategy knowledge
Qualifications
Master's degree in Forestry, Sustainability, Environment Studies or Equivalent
10+ years of experience in the domain
Understanding of Mapping Software
Languages: French and English essential
