OVERVIEW
Botswana Housing Corporation is a parastatal under the Ministry of Transport & Public Works with a mandate to provide for the housing, office, and other building needs of the government and local authorities. The Corporation is inviting candidates with proven strong business acumen and impeccable integrity to apply for the following position tenable in Francistown:
ESTATES OFFICER
Main Purpose of the Job
We are seeking dynamic experienced candidates who can successfully assist in the planning, organizing and coordination of sales and leasing of BHC properties in alignment with set budgetary and customer satisfaction targets.
Key Responsibilities
The successful Candidate will be responsible for the following inter alia:-
⦁ Implement appropriate strategies, policies, and plans related to property management
⦁ Update property asset register and provide necessary information to facilitate leasing or sale of properties
⦁ Undertake appropriate action in the event of illegal occupation and renovation of the property
⦁ Prepare information to inform sales and leasing of properties to eligible applicants in accordance with
set policies and procedures
⦁ Recover rent arrears to minimize the growth of rental indebtedness including recommendations to terminate the lease agreement in cases of non-compliance
⦁ Provide information for the preparation of draft demand forecasts for rental/sale and draft sales targets for the area with revenue estimates
⦁ Address or escalate tenant grievances, complaints, and disputes in order to promote good relations between the tenants and the Corporation
⦁ Assist in the preparation of monthly vacancy inspection report
⦁ Assist in completing the Section’s Performance Scorecard as required
⦁ Undertake other such duties as directed by the supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
The right candidate must possess the following qualifications and credentials:
⦁ Degree in Property or Estates Management or related fields
⦁ Professional Membership of a recognized real estate institute will be an added advantage
⦁ Minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience in property or estates management or related field
