About the job;
Our Deloitte Botswana Taxation team provides industry leading taxation expertise to some of Botswana's largest local and multinational entitles and owner-managed entities, and to individuals that own them. We assist in growing, managing and protecting our clients from a tax perspective across a wide array of industry sectors including property, hospitality, retail, consumer business, technology, mining and resources, banking, insurance and other financial services. We are looking for a Senior Manager to lead the service line in Botswana who has strong leadership skills, the relevant experience and the ability to grow the division's service offerings in the following:
· Tax advisory and compliance in direct and indirect taxes (Income Tax, CGT, CTT, VAT, PAYE, OWT)
· Tax structuring
· Tax due diligence and health checks
· Tax transaction advisory and tax opinions
· Company income tax and deferred tax computations
· Tax support to matters associated with trusts and estates
· Tax consolidation planning and compliance
· Employee compensation / remuneration / share and option planning
· Transfer pricing
Qualifications
About You
Candidates must hold at least a university degree in commerce or accounting (e.g., in Bcom, BBA or equivalent), ideally hold a tax diploma or equivalent and minimum 10 years' working experience in a tax compliance and advisory role.
· A minimum of 5 to 10 years relevant professional advisory experience and problem solving.
· At least 10 years of practical experience in a professional tax compliance and advisory role
· Proven track record in preparation of tax due diligence on business acquisitions and disposals.
· At least 5 years’ experience as a Senior Manager and traceable experience in tax planning and tax advisory work for high profile clients.
· Knowledge of tax legislation and its effects thereof.
· Ability to mentor and motivate others.
· Ability to use initiative and think outside the box.
· A customer focused attitude with professionalism at all times
· Highly motivated with good work ethic
· Attention to detail
· Analytical skills
