Position: Pool Attendant

Department: Hotel Operations

Job Summary: Ensures guests enjoy an optimal experience while utilizing the pool facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but not limited to):
• Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell to guests using a guest's name, when possible, and making good eye contact.
• Seats guests at the pool and/or directs them to cabanas, jacuzzi, etc...
• Engages guests in polite conversation.
• Provides exceptional service during guest's stay by anticipating needs.
• Ensures all pool and patio furniture is neatly arranged and clean.
• Opens all umbrellas, cleans table tops and wipes off all chairs.
• Takes orders for food and beverages including alcohol; delivers food and beverages accepting payment and giving change when necessary.
• Routinely picks up empty trays, baskets and beverage containers disposing of and/or returning them to the proper area.
• Provides towel service to all guests as needed.
• Cleans and replaces dirty ashtrays as needed.
• Functions as a supportive team member to other co-workers during shifts.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Sol Casinos' internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of cash registers, Micros point of sales system and currency transactions.
• Knowledge of guest service principles and practices.
• Knowledge of First Aid and CPR.
• Must possess sound judgment in monitoring guests for alcohol consumption and reporting incidents of alcohol misuse to supervisor.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to accurately handle and count money as well as make change.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in the sun.
• Ability to lift forty (40) pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must either possess or be able to obtain valid Alcohol Awareness and Food Handlers certifications within 90 days of employment.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
• Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid non-gaming license.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a luxury, resort environment.
• ServSafe certification
