Summary/Objectives

It is the responsibility of the Senior Vice President of Governmental & Not-for-Profit Banking to take ownership of all tasks and challenges they encounter in the operation of their assigned position. The role falls under a critical Business Unit of the Commercial Line of business requiring frequent interaction with Senior level management and direct contact with existing and potential clients of the Bank. This position will continue the buildout of our Unit, working with the Director of Governmental & Not-for-Profit Banking, to consult in market on opportunities. It is both tactical and strategic in nature with significant collaboration with the relationship managers in the market as well as their senior leadership. He or she will be required to build relationships and collaborate with other lines of business within the bank to include Credit, Operations and Finance. This is a senior level position, with exceptional responsibility guiding other professionals in the Bank on the tax, legal, political and procedural aspects of governmental banking. The position will tasked with helping further grow the Bank’s Governmental Banking practice as well as the Bank’s overall Public Finance Strategy.

Essential Functions

Namely:
• Collaborate on further developing and execute the Governmental Banking Strategy to include production, coordination, process optimization, compliance, best practices and risk management.
• Identify and cultivate key relationships outside of the Bank (legal, accounting, consultants, etc.) to not only build the Banks presence in the industry but also capitalize on the many opportunities that make themselves available to us.
• Help establish procedures and prioritize relationship opportunities within the governmental space to include debt, cash management, depository and investment management.
• Establish collaborative relationships with other partners in the Bank to advance considerations for total relationship cultivation.
• Help build and manage administrative aspects of the division to include financial reporting, portfolio management, product development, pricing tracking and goal attainment.
• Conceptualize and compose high quality internal and external communication educating the local markets and supporting the growth of Governmental Banking.
• Accept other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES
• Thorough understanding of all fixed income platforms, industry-specific software, credit rating agency, common industry resources.
• Strong computer skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication skills across multiple platforms.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Graduate Degree encouraged)
• Experience: 15+ years of governmental lending or public finance experience, blended bank/investment bank prior employment
• Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Strong industry knowledge of direct technical, analytical and legal parameters as well as political nuance.

Training Requirements/Classes

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation, nCino.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is located in a private office.

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered.

TRAVEL

Travel will be required to come to meetings as needed as well as advance client development
