Trident Trust is a leading independent provider of corporate, trust and fund services to the financial services sector worldwide, employing over 900 staff across a global footprint that spans Africa, the Americas, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. We are seeking a talented Managing Director, Financial Services to join our team in the British Virgin Islands. As the most senior full-time executive of the company, the Managing Director will lead an office of around 100 staff with a global sales and client relationship team, to direct and control the company’s daily operations and to give tactical guidance and direction to the management team ensuring the company achieves its vision, mission, and objectives.

This position reports to the Regional Managing Director. The successful candidate will reside in the BVI.

Role & Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate the senior management team in day-to-day business management creating short-term objectives and long-term goals.
• Take ownership of the company’s financial performance and ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Communicate frequently, accurately, and clearly with the board of directors to ensure they are properly apprised of the company’s operations and financial position.
• Effectively engage with clients to seek and obtain feedback on the service provided, the products offered and their pulse in the market.
• Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with relevant government departments, key decision-makers, and other major stakeholders locally.
• With the finance team, prepare and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met by tracking the actuals and forecasts; be responsible for monthly and annual reporting to the board and shareholders.
• Develop and maintain an effective marketing strategy to promote the company’s solutions to the global community of BVI users.
• Develop, promote and direct the implementation of equal opportunity policies in all aspects of the company’s work.
• Lead and inspire the employees to ensure the company continues to attract, develop and retain skilled professionals who can service client needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree in a business or law related field.
• 10 years of experience in a senior leadership position within the financial services industry with a proven record of success.
• 10 years of experience developing strategic and business plans.
• Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices.
• Demonstrable knowledge of the financial services industry and the local environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Technologically savvy, with experience overseeing information technology staff or vendors.
• Success seeing beyond the numbers- identifying trends and new possibilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of the BVI Financial Services Industry.
• Ability to function in high-pressure situations with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Compensation:

An attractive compensation package is available and will be based upon the successful candidate’s relevant experience and overall suitability for the position.
