BASEL OFFICE - Junior Recruiter - Culinary

Viking is a strong and dynamic company - with a growing fleet of more than 80 river ships and seven ocean vessels cruising over 100 itineraries around the world. In 2022, our guests will experience all the comfort and elegance of our award-winning fleet with two expedition ships built specifically to explore the world's most remote destinations. We will also expand our operations to the U.S. with the addition of a new Mississippi River ship.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Junior Recruiter supports the Recruiting Manager with all recruitment related activities which includes tasks around the selection and hiring of new crew for Viking's Culinary divisions.

The main responsibility of the Junior Recruiter (Culinary) is to work closely with the Recruiting Manager (Culinary) to ensure a steady pipeline of accepted candidates over all vacant positions on all vessels. This includes organizing, conducting, and evaluating interviews and partake in assessment centers, globally. Travel within this position is between 50 and 60 per cent, worldwide.

Furthermore, the Junior Recruiter will maintain a healthy relationship with our partner agencies and represents Viking Ocean Cruises as an Employer of Choice within the cruise industry.

The Junior Recruiter will report to the Senior Manager Recruiting. This role is newly implemented and it is a full time position. Based on operational needs and in further development of the position, the role responsibilities will evolve. This role is based in our Operational Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or in possession of a valid work permit.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Verify recruiting profiles & selection criteria with all involved departments
• Regularly updating recruiting requirements based on operational needs and following HR policy
• Managing and updating the application pool database
• Keep overview and tidiness throughout the entire recruiting process from application to hiring stage
• Support the Recruiting Manager to maintain the candidate resource pool
• Conduct personal and video interviews for onboard crew and managers
• Organization and execution of cooking trials and assessment centers (location planning, communication with recruiting agencies worldwide, screening, selection, interviews, statistics)
• Participate in recruiting events worldwide with our partner agencies following SOP's and company standards
• Maintain business relationships with a trusted network of high-quality recruiting agencies in all relevant markets
• Support defining measures to establish employer branding in the relevant markets in close coordination with global marketing
• Research competitor conditions, visa requirements & industry trends (benchmarking)
• Follow defined recruiting processes in an effective & efficient manner to ensure given budgets and optimize if necessary
• Always ensure adequate reporting of recruiting status quo & measures

YOUR PROFILE
• Background in a middle management culinary position, preferably with 5* and international experience
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus
• Excellent computer knowledge Microsoft Office (Word and Excel proficiency required); SharePoint, SuccessFactors recruiting are asset
• Excellent organizational skills, service-oriented and client-focused
• Ability set priorities to given tasks, multi-tasking,
• Open to multi-cultural work environment and new ideas; honest, energetic and enthusiastic
• A self-starter with a can-do mindset and complete attention to detail
• Flexibility and stress resistance, team player, commitment, positive personality, professional appearance
