Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor
Our Client is a premier Real Estate Developer specialized in developing prime residential and luxury homes for sale at affordable prices. Our Client is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to assist in the effective cost management and administration of construction projects.
Purpose of the Job:
The ideal candidate will provide support in estimating costs, quantity take-offs, preparing tender documents, conducting site measurements and valuations, ensuring projects are completed within budget while maintaining high standards of quality.
Working Conditions: Full-time, on-site
Location: Ikota, Lekki Lagos.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Estimation & Planning: Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and project costing for construction projects.
• Tender Documentation: Support the preparation and review of tender documents and contracts, including bills of quantities.
• Cost Control: Monitor and track project costs to ensure budget adherence and identify cost variations.
• Valuation: Assist in preparing interim valuations, final accounts, and financial statements for projects.
• Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and ensure accurate measurements.
• Negotiation: Help negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve competitive pricing.
• Contract Administration: Support in managing contract documents and ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
• Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports and financial updates for senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth project execution.
Key Requirements:
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, or construction project management.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, QS Plus).
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team.
Attention to Detail:
A high level of accuracy in work and documentation.
Remuneration:
Remuneration for this role is negotiable and will be within industry standard. It will majorly be determined by the experience that the candidate will bring. Our Client is also compliant with statutory benefits.
