3D Factory Engineer

Background & Purpose of the Job

The role will involve the operations of AM Hub in Raeford. The AM 3D Manufacturing Engineer will liaise with the engineering and operations teams within the factory and across the network of Unilever factories in North America to help with manufacturing and delivery of 3D parts. By utilizing additive manufacturing (3D printing) we have an exciting opportunity to change the way we service the supply of parts to the factories in North America, being able to react quickly, develop innovative and valuable solutions that sometimes are not even possible using traditional methods.

What You’ll Do:
• Operate and Maintain the 3D printer – training will be provided.
• Operate and Maintain 3D scanner – training will be provided.
• Use your 3D CAD skills to design or modify designs suitable for 3D printing.
• Collate and maintain the library of parts produced and the associated costs.
• Work with Engineering colleagues to understand current issues and design innovative solutions to production issues.
• Liaise with 3rd Party companies such as HP, Autodesk and Machinery OEM equipment suppliers.
• Technology scouting to further improve the Am hub and Unilever program.
• Getting the request of parts from all NA sites in the form of 3D CAD drawing or a physical part to print by 3D printer.
• Pack and ship the printed part to the NA sites.
• Develop parts request tool in order to manage the requests, printing and delivery of parts on time.

You’re a born leader: You are in charge of looking after a new AM facility serving the N American Network of factories, you are the leader of change bringing others on the journey with you. You take pride in the facility, equipment and the driving the program in North America.

You’re a dot connector: You are a part of many different groups and touch the work plans of many teams. You will connect the dots between Engineering groups in the Factories and the Divisions, build relationships and work with Additive Manufacturing Engineers in the other AM hubs across the world. Taking and sharing best practice and thinking, bringing it into your work. There will also be external orientation for working with our OEM suppliers.

You’re a culture and change champion: You will drive a new way of working to the Engineering and Operations community in our continued pursuit of lowering installed cost, increasing efficiency and decreasing lead times. By designing and producing parts that add value, you will change the culture of the way we do things, also engaging others in the program to entrench this into our ways of working.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Essential
• Engineering Degree with preference in Mechanical.
• Experience in 3D CAD software – Autodesk tools preferred but not essential
• An understanding of additive manufacturing
• Some exposure to the production environment
• A willingness to learn and be creative

Desired
• Experience in working with format parts
• A passion for design

Work Level 1B:

Pay: The pay range for this position is $67,000 to $100,500. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
