Job Title: Regional Maternal, Newborn & Child Health Program Officer for Tigray

Position Summary:

- As a member of the Program’s Regional Team, the Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Program Officer is responsible for planning and implementing the support to maternal, newborn and child health interventions at community level, at facility level and with management structures at different levels. The MNCH Program Officer works under the supervision of the Regional Program Manager, and in close collaboration with the Regional Team. She/he is based in the Program’s Tigray office, with extensive travel within the Region.

Responsibilities:

- Plan, oversee and support regional interventions in support MNCH, in collaboration with IFHP Cluster Teams and Regional Health Bureau (RHB) counterparts
- Assist in developing training manuals for capacity building of health providers and their managers in MNCH service delivery and management, in collaboration with RHB and Program staff
- Review of MNCH sections of implementing partner organizations’ (IPOs) proposals
- Support IPOs that receive grants for specific MNCH interventions
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation of MNCH interventions, in close collaboration with RHBs and Program staff

- Provide technical support to Cluster Teams in organizing, facilitating, monitoring, and evaluating relevant trainings
- Prepare implementation reports relevant to his/her area of responsibilities
- Contribute to professional development of Regional Program staff in EPI, IMNCI, Newborn Health and Safe Motherhood activities
- Promote partnership approach for all activities undertaken
