We are a small school and our elementary teachers all teach in multi-grade
classrooms. This particular position is in a Kindergarten/Grade 1 class of
about 20 children. We expect a teacher to differentiate to meet the needs of
all students in the class in language arts and math classes. We also use a
concept-based, inquiry method for science and social studies classes. The
teacher would create one unit for both levels of children in the class for
science and social studies. A elementary level candidate must be skilled
using technology. The teaching candidate would be expected to use data to
inform decisions about teaching and learning.
