The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) is an affiliate of the Football Association of Malawi mandated to promote, organise, and administer elite football in Malawi. In its quest to revive, reform and rebrand the elite league into a more professionalized and vibrant league, SULOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals to fill the newly created vacant position of Finance & Administration Officer tenable in Blantyre at the Super League of Malawi Secretariat.
The position will be on performance-based contract.
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Role Summary
SULOM is looking for an experienced person to manage and control finances and administration of the organization. The candidate shall be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of SULOM, produce management and financial reports and advise on costs minimization and, revenue and efficiency maximization.
The Finance and Administration Officer will be reporting to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparing timely financial and non-financial reports.
• Overseeing financial procedures, policies, and controls of SULOM
• Communicating to relevant sections any new financial regulations and policies.
• Coordinating with the external audit during audit.
• Ensuring all accounting transactions are maintained and reconciled periodically.
• Ensuring all transaction have the necessary supporting schedules or documentation.
Personal and Academic Requirements
• Minimum 4 years working experience in an accounting field.
• Knowledge of the Malawi tax legislation, accounting regulations and accounting practices and policies.
• Ability to work independently within deadlines, self-motivated and creative.
• Excellent analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in Ms Office applications and accounting packages.
• Must be an active member and registered with a professional body i.e., ICAM or ACCA
• Must be a Chartered Accountant.
• Must have a Degree in Finance/Accounting from a reputable and accredited institution. Those with a Masters Degree with have an added advantage.
