Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants, as the case may be, depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service:

Post: Assistant Road Transport Officer (Grade K)
Salary: Within the Grade K salary scale segment
Location: Ministry of Transport
Qualifications
Applicants must be in possession of a diploma in either Mechanics or Auto-Mobile Engineering, City and Guilds (Part Il) obtained from recognized institutions and must be a holder of a valid CI Driving Licence with two years driving experience.
Duties:
• Examining Motor Vehicles for Certificate of Fitness;
• Examining Motor Vehicles for Valuation so as to determine the current value;
• Examining Motor Vehicles involved in road accidents so as to determine the possible cause;
• Carrying out spot checks so as to enhance Law Enforcement;
• Examining driving test candidates for the domestic driving licence;
• Inspecting garages to facilitate authorization of MD plates to make sure requirements are fulfilled;
• Inspecting driving school premises to facilitate establishment a driving school and to ascertain fulfilment of requirements; and
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are
permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
