This position is within the Criteria, Loads and Dynamics team for Air Mobility & Maritime Missions (AMMM). This engineer will be a part of the team that produces Structural Design Criteria, External Design and Operational Loads for AMMM. The candidate will have a significant understanding of fundamental technical principals, theories, and concepts with respect to aircraft external loads (Aerodynamics, Controls, Dynamics, Physics, Propulsion, Fluid Dynamics) and aircraft dynamics.
• Expected to work as a part of a team and will be expected to work independently with minimal oversight on assigned tasks within a team environment.
• Considered a Subject Matter Expert in aircraft external structural loads, to include: Design Loads, Criteria, and Operational Loads development.
• Extensive experience in aircraft structural loads of all types.
• Additional duties include report writing, software design to assist in analyses, customer interface, test support, and interfacing with other disciplines (Stress, DADTA, Design, Flight Test, etc.).

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor &/or above Degree in an Engineering Technical Discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, &/or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in aircraft external loads
Desired Skills:
• Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with Aero Concentration, or equivalent
• Experience building air vehicle external loads models, running loads predictions, interpreting results
• Experience creating loads design-to criteria
• Extensive experience conducting loads analysis using hand methods
• Experience in loads flight testing
• Experience in loads instrumentation
• Matlab
• MSC FlightLoads
• Familiarity with CATIA V5
• EVMS (Earned Value Management System) experience
• Excellent writing and communication skills
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
