About The Role

You will join Platform Cloud Engineering in SRE which is the technical resolution team within Marigold for all in-life Marigold Products. We also provide shared platform capabilities to support all of our value streams and product portfolios and specialist SRE pillars centered around each portfolio. As a Senior Engineer, you'll collaborate with a team of globally-distributed Engineers to execute on Marigold´s larger strategic vision and roadmap.

What You’ll Do
• Contribute to the developing the vision and roadmap for the team’s services and products.
• Be accountable for the investigation, management, escalation, resolution and communication of all incidents impacting Marigold´s software platforms.
• Continually review how we work and look and ways to improve the operation to support our customers.
• Develop infrastructure as code engineering patterns across a wide variety of SaaS, IaaS and PaaS based solutions.
• Form part of the technical assessment team supporting new solutions by conducting proof of concepts of vendor software and infrastructure platforms.
• Create cloud native deployment architecture and design for product components - including a focus on highly scalable, decoupled and resilient architectures.
• Contribute to the engineering quality and secure development life cycle for the component, working with the security, observability and compliance stakeholders.
• Create and execute test automation strategy to support any new product component you deliver.
• Use coding technologies to simplify and automate customer processes and solutions.
• Participate in on-call shift rotations across a globally-distributed team.
• Contribute to the change control process associated with making any platform changes requiring service interruption.
• Continually survey the platform incident queue and drive issues to resolution.
• Work with vendors to perform proof-of-concept projects (POCs) to demonstrate the viability of new ideas and technologies.
• Contribute to the development/improvement of our build & release processes automation.
• Facilitate scheduled software deployments and hotfixes as needed.

What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 4+ yrs experience in full-stack application support/DevOps/SRE role
• Experience database and data store technologies such as AWS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Redis, Spark, Kafka
• Experience in scripting languages such as Bash, and/or Python
• Ability to distill technical scenarios to all levels of our organization
• Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and the tools involved such as CI/CD concepts, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CodePipeline, etc.), automation and configuration tools (Puppet, Ansible, etc)
• Knowledge of public clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure) with proven experience in implementing projects on public clouds.
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm Chart and continuous deployment paradigms. Preference for candidates who have broad experience administering and maintaining Kubernetes clusters on-prem and on-cloud (EKS, GKE, AKS)
• Ability to self-govern workload and show discipline around priority and time management, even while working remotely or in the absence of direct management for an extended period of time
• Expertise in infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Cloudformation
• Experience in event and stream processing technologies such as Apache Kafka and Apache Storm
• Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, and logging platforms such as ELK, Splunk
• Ability and willingness to adapt to new application stacks and new technology concepts as the business evolves over time
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to collaborate with local and remote teams in different time zones
• Ability to present/lead technical discussions
