What this job involves

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of EHS Specialist to join our team:
• Location : Manatí , Puerto Rico .
• Work schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 :00 am to 5 :00 pm .
• Work model : On site.
• Contract Type : Indefinite-term.

This role is responsible for d eveloping and implementing comprehensive EH&S programs and initiatives that comply with regulatory requirements and promote employee participation and accountability. Examples include contractor safety, isolation of hazardous energy, chemical management, and emergency procedures, among others.

What is your day to day?
• Identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage or environmental impacts using safety standards, best management practices, and analytical techniques.
• Develop and conduct training in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Ensure proper documentation of training.
• Assist sites in performing job safety analysis and developing safe work procedures.
• Conduct safety and environmental inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Collect data, provide information and reports as needed to support the Client's compliance programs.
• Participate and conduct EH&S audits across sites.
• Provides day-to-day health, safety, industrial hygiene and environmental support and guidance / solutions to facility personnel to maintain a safe work environment consistent with company policy and state and federal regulations.
• Coordinate/support and track response to routine and emergency air quality (IAQ)/mold/environmental events, as required.
• Participate and/or lead incident/accidents investigation, root-cause analysis, recordkeeping, and follow-up.
• Make recommendations for prevention based on results of investigations.
• Monitor recordkeeping and reporting performance for Risk related requirements and objectives.
• Ensure that appropriate site and business specific programs are implemented, documented and standardized to effectively and efficiently meet CPI/KPI's and legal requirements.
• Programs must comply with regulatory, client and company requirements.

Required:
• Master's degree in Industrial Hygienist, or a Bachelor's degree with previous experience as an Industrial Hygienist/Safety.
• A minimum of two years of simiilar experience, performing hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments (mandatory).
• Upper-intermediate level of English.
• EHS experience in biopharmaceutical, research or maintenance operations is highly desirable
• Proficient in basic computer applications and software such as MS Office programs, Outlook.
