Collins Aerospace Global Engineering & Technology Center in Puerto Rico (GETC-PR) is looking for an Embedded Security Software Engineer with a passion for problem solving and delivering solutions. We are looking for a strong, passionate professional with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations. This person will be in a cross disciplinary team environment and will need to be able to thrive on tackling challenges.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location and is required to be worked onsite. Candidate must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Conduct and coordinate complex tests for cross domain solution services that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Apply complex software engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques associated with the C, C++, and Python computer languages for software development.
• Analyze system capabilities and determine end user needs to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition to ensure current and future needs of the business are met.
• Perform design and testing of security software systems or procedures.
• Determine end user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
• Ensure hardware and software interaction and use to test end user software.
• Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
• May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• May mentor and train software engineers in the use of coding and testing standards and best practices, configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
• Effective communication and presentation skills in English (verbal and written).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Previous experience working in the aerospace industry.
• Experience in software development and testing using C++ and Python
• Experience in software security under a classified room environment
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages
• Experience in version control software management such as SVN and GIT
• Experience with Agile software development
