Mechanical Technician

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Using mechanical craft and fitting skills to carry out Routine and Corrective Mechanical Maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance supervisor
Carry out Condition Monitoring tasks as directed by the Senior Rotating Equipment Technician and the Senior Mechanical Technician
Use of Maximo (CMMS) to carry out and record maintenance as per the planned maintenance routines within the system
Use of Maximo (CMMS to carry out corrective maintenance activities and record within the system
Monitors plant machinery and identify abnormal situations ensuring these are reported to prevent mechanical failure.
Overhaul and refurbishment of rotating equipment to the required standard such as Centrifugal pumps, compressors, and Fans capturing critical settings and clearances
Develop an awareness of production targets and how the Mechanical maintenance team can influence the delivery of these targets
Work alongside the Operations team and assist in the commissioning and start-up of plant and equipment, to build knowledge level as directed by the Senior Mechanical Technician
Train towards attaining a dedicated emergency response role within the site team
Requirements:
Formal education and qualification to Technical diploma level.
Formal Mechanical Craft skills training. Good English language communication skills – verbal/written.
Technical problem-solving skills.
Planning of daily work tasks.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team.
Openly seeks input from others.
Ability to share knowledge/experience.
Keeps calm under pressure.
A proactive approach to safety.
Willingness to train subordinate staff.
Lead a small team of contractors.
