The plant pathology team at the Eastern Ag Research Center in Sidney, MT is looking for a motivated individual (M.S. or Ph.D.) to conduct applied plant pathology research in pulse crops (peas, lentils, chickpeas).

Duties and Responsibilities: As a member of our team, you will be expected to conduct small plot field research for grant funded projects, innovate through the development of new protocols, contribute to annual reports, write quality manuscripts, and mentor students and staff in your area of expertise. Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively is essential.

Required Qualifications:
• M.S. in plant pathology, plant science, or a closely related discipline
• Experience in applied plant pathology methods.
• Experience in experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
• Record of publication.
• Expertise with statistical software and Microsoft office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in plant pathology, plant science, or a closely related discipline.
• Field research experience consisting of field plot design, harvesting of experimental plots, and grain cleaning and processing.
• Experience with molecular techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis.
• Experience with plant pathogen isolation and identification.
• Leadership and/or mentoring experience.
