Technical Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

CI Madagascar manages the Marine Protected Area in the northern part of Madagascar called 7 Bays Marine Corridor. Several activities are conducted at this site, the focus is on a project on mangrove conservation with local communities. Under the supervision and the support of the Regional Office, he implements the Conservation International Madagascar strategy in the region based on the sustainability of the seascape.

The "Technical Coordinator" is involved in the development of CI Madagascar's project with PCD 2 (Pêche Côtière Durable Phase 2), particularly in supporting the CI Diégo team in implementing all activities related to mangroves in the 7 Bays Marine Corridor and participating in the various initiatives launched by CI and partners in the site.

They ensure the technical coordination of the activities with local communities on mangrove sustainable management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure mangroves conservation and restauration in CM7B MPA.
- Ensure the ecological monitoring of Mangroves, to facilitate monitoring of conservation and restoration evolution.
- Ensure effective communications and information sharing among all partners and stakeholders.
- Ensure good relations between partners and stakeholders, including donors, government, NGOs, and other partners important to the success of the program.
- Oversee the Work planning and implementation of all projects related to the management of CI Madagascar marine sites by establishing the operational work plan with references and providing periodic progress reports to the supervisor. Function as a key source of information and advisor on the project.
- Support the person responsible for monitoring and evaluating the projects implemented in the marine sites by providing the necessary information and data (establishment of the database and analysis of the data with the contribution of the entire technical team).
- Provide administrative, research, and project support for a conservation-related program or project. Establish and perform research and analyze and summarize key findings. Act as liaison with staff and partners if needed. WORKING CONDITIONS

- This position is based in Antsiranana, Madagascar.
- Frequent trips QUALIFICATIONS

Required

- 2 to 4 years of experience in the management of marine protected areas and/or coastal areas. Preferred

- Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology or Botanist, Environment, Biodiversity Management, Geography or equivalent fields with mangrove expertizes.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, environmental project management, and rural development.
- Excellent report writing skills
- Good aptitude for rural communication and social marketing
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office.
- High level of French and English.
- Excellent knowledge in marine conservation and development areas at the level of the fishing communities of the DIANA Region. To apply for this position please submit a resume and cover letter.
