The Wireless Inbuilding RF Design team delivers state of the art indoor solution inside buildings where the signal cannot reach from the outside network or where increased capacity is needed. With the level of the network maturity, the need of inbuilding coverage is becoming crucial to deliver an exceptional wireless experience to customers across the country. Using you knowledge, you will participate in the design and optimization of TELUS’s distributed antenna systems, design capacity solutions for special events as well as deliver solutions for our exciting 5G deployment. You will also use your scripting and database knowledge to solve various challenges.
Our ultimate goal is to deliver the highest standard of wireless service with our Customers First belief as our central focus point making sure our customers stay connected and have the best wireless service experiences.
What you’ll do
• Design and Optimization of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) using IB Wave inbuilding planning tool
• Deliver quality indoor RF design by selecting optimum solutions considering technology and building layout
• Analyze existing indoor coverage from the macro network using industry standard tools in order to identify the needed coverage enhancements
• Produce quality technical documents using various tools
• Work closely with the RF Field Analysts, RF Performance Engineers, RF Capacity Engineers, RF Small Cells and macro design engineers to achieve the network performance objectives
• Lead cross-functional and inter-regional projects for the RF Engineering team
• Resolving day to day tasks with scripts and programming to improve team efficiency
What you bring
• Bachelor in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering
• Scripting, programming and database handling skills are a must
• Understanding of RF behaviour, propagation loss, link budget, uplink noise calculation and the current mobile radio technologies
• Understanding of building layouts to determine cable routes in various building types
• Strong culture of collaborative partnerships with other team members and other teams to optimize project deployments for our customers
• Leadership and project management skills; Ability to drive engineering projects autonomously
• Communicator, influencer and negotiator skills, able to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
• Business and financial skills who drives innovation, change and process improvements
Great-to-haves
• Experience on inbulding RF design and optimization including site acquisition policies
• Knowledge of iBWave design tool and/or iBWave certification
