Eagles Relief and Development Programme (Eagles) envisions self-reliant, resilient and holistically transformed communities that are able to identify their problems, find lasting solutions, take actions and have an improved standard of living. Communities develop skills, attitudes and knowledge that enable them become self-reliant and resilient, learning to identify and solve problems facing them using what they have, as well as collaborate with other stakeholders through networking and advocacy to address problems that are beyond their capacity.Eagles is implementing RAISERaising Assets and Income for a Sustainable Environment in Malawi in 12 Traditional Authorities in Chikwawa district to enhance resilience to food shocks of chronic and acute food insecure populations with funding from European Union and Irish Aid through Concern Worldwide. The project is targeting Social Cash Transfer Participating households, as well as those who will soon exit from the programme in TA Chapananga, Kasisi, Katunga, Maseya, Makhuwira, Mulilima, Masache, Ndakwera, Lundu, Ng’abu, Ngowe and Chiputula.The organization is currently seeking to recruit 13 field monitors be based in selected in Traditional Authorities and 1 Monitoring Learning and Evaluation Assistant at Chikwawa boma. The field monitors will work with selected households who will exit the Government Social Cash Transfer Programme and the programme will also work with the broader community with various components of a resilience package. The Monitoring Learning and Evaluation Assistant will support the entire RAISE programme in data management.JOB TITLE: The Monitoring Learning and Evaluation Assistant (1) REPORTING TO: Project Coordinator. LOCATION: Chikwawa CONTRACT PERIOD: 18 MonthsPURPOSEThe role will coordinate and support RAISE data management in Chikwawa district and assist Monitoring and Evaluation Manager in high quality organisational data management.DUTIESConduct training for casual workers on data collection methodologiesProvide supervision for quantitative data collection activitiesConduct data quality checks in the field and ensure accuracy and completeness of survey questionnairesProvide supervision for data entry of quantitative data, clean data and conduct data analysis.Supervise all M&E casual workers (Enumerators and Data Entry clerks)Conduct observations, Market Surveys (shop monitoring), Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews with different persons of different age groups (children, youth, adults) and different gender.Enter data from FGDs, shop monitoring, observations and KIIs, participate in data analysis and draft reportsCompile data from surveys using relevant and appropriate computer packagesParticipate in the baseline, mid-term and end of term evaluations of programmesPrepare informative field reports,Identify shortcomings and make relevant recommendations on a regular basisParticipate and attend capacity building events as requiredAssist the RAISE staff with M&E tools and in supporting them in their useWork closely with Monitoring Learning and Evaluation Manager on RAISE project data management.QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSDiploma in statistics, rural development, or other relevant disciplineExperience in conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection activities (surveys, assessments, monitoring, evaluations, etc.)Good oral and written communication. both English and ChichewaBasic working knowledge of statistical packages (Excel, etc.) is requiredMinimum one year experience of working in Monitoring and Evaluation Department in non-governmental organisationPreferred understanding of logframes, M&E plans, and indicatorsMature, humble and committed Christian.Good team worker.Good oral and written communication.Knowledge and experience in digital data collection and analysisAll interested applicants should forward their application letters including, curriculum vitae with three traceable referees of which one should be from church not later than Friday 24th December, 2021 to:The Executive Director, Eagles Relief and Development Programme International, P.O Box 369, Blantyre.Women are encouraged to apply.
