Minimum Requirements:
• Qualification/ Degree in the field of Human Resources or similar.
• 5+ Years HR Generalist experience and 3+ years’ experience in a HR Management role
• Competent and experienced within a high-volume automotive environment
• Proven knowledge and experience in RSA Labour Law
• Significant experience of Trade Unions in a demanding environment
• PC Literate, proficient on all MS Office Packages.
• Experience using VIP Payroll System
• Fluent in English (Speaking and Writing).
Responsibilities:
• Leading and developing the local HR team to provide support to Management and employees of the best HR practice
• To build a strong relationship with the recognized Trade Union and consult as appropriate
• To advise and support Management Team and Line Managers in the effective implementation of the best HR practice
• To lead the Plant Management Team on key organisational and development issues
• Ensure targets are met for Absence/Accident/Headcount and detail these as part of weekly reviews
• Develop new HR initiatives to support the business strategy
• Develop and sustain a company wide best practice, integrated business system IATF16949
• To review, lead, develop and implement policies and procedures for the recruitment, selection, induction, and retention of staff
• To facilitate and monitor staff appraisal system and make recommendations for change in line with best practice
• To coordinate training and development activities within the plant
• Ensure the Company policies and procedures are always adhered to and provide assistance and support when required to Management and Line Managers
• Carry out disciplinary/grievance activities
• Represent the company at CCMA related to all disciplinary matters of the Plant
• Update and maintain all personnel files
• Carry out Absence Management policies and procedures
• Dealing with employee Medical Aid and Pension Fund claims and relevant meetings/documentation
• Lead the involvement of Occupational Health and Safety
• Weekly and Monthly processing of Wages and Salaries, reconciliation of medical and Pension Fund Billing
• Support, strategize and coordinate the relevant elements (Skills Development, Management and Socio-Economic Development) to achieve the BBB-EE target for the Plant
• Support, strategize and manage the EE and Training Committee and develop the EE Plan for the Plant
• Develop and maintain the annual WSP and ATR to submit to MerSETA
