Position Summary:

This position will play an important role in our scientific research communities by providing support for biomedical data repositories through data curation, and the development of data formats and metadata standards. We are interested in someone who understands the complexities of combining heterogeneous biomedical data sources, the difficulties of standardizing metadata, and the value these efforts provide in the reproducible supporting research.

The position (role) is not related to any programming or coding but requires advanced information searching skills (googling), also Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets formulas, and functions usage.
We are looking for persons who will collaborate with peers to deliver actual, double-checked (verified) information and data for unique AI-powered healthcare cloud solutions:
• Job Titled: Data Curation Associate (DCA)
• Job Type: Contract
• Experience Level: Entry Level
• Language: English (intermediate), Russian (fluent), and other languages – are a plus.
• Education: College graduate or College student or University student
• Schedule: Full-Time (8 hours,12 p.m. - 09 p.m.), Monday to Friday
• Location: ASTANA city, KAZAKHSTAN
• Off-line: Office only
• Reports to: Healthcare Data Analyst, MD
• Career: Career progression includes moving to the core team and becoming a Healthcare Data Analyst (MD), Data Quality Engineer/Specialist, Data Analyst, Taxonomist, Ontologist, Business Analyst, Data Curation Manager, and similar roles
• Monthly Wage: 200 000 KZT (net payment)

Primary Responsibilities:
• Training data/datasets preparation/verification for machine-learning algorithms training
• Data verification (data checking for accuracy and consistency) & data validation (checking if data makes sense)
• Search and gather medical/healthcare information on the Internet
• Data profiling (collecting statistics and information about data in data sources)
• Data cleaning (define and determine error types, search and identify error instances, correct the errors, document error instances, and error types, modify data entry procedures to reduce future errors)
• Data updating (reference & master data, user data)
• Data enrichment (enhancing, refining, and improving data)
• Data labeling (tagging the data or adding metadata to make it more meaningful and informative)
• Matching related data from different data sources/sets
• Maintaining up-to-date information on metadata, changes, and statuses related to each data source
• Developing accurate, thorough, and timely data reports
• Document data issues and problems
• Following data quality procedures
• Provide data curation support and guidance to other team members

Job Experience Requirements:
• Experience with data entry of quantitative and qualitative data
• Experience with extraction and manipulation of data sets
• Experience with a data management role (databases, analytics, metadata, master and reference data, business intelligence, or another related domain)
• Experience with managing/preparing data sets for use in analysis, modeling, or business operations
• Experience in the healthcare field is a plus
Education Requirements:
• Current college or university students
• Recent college or university graduates
• A degree in bio-medicine or healthcare or statistics or data analytics is a plus
Hard Skills Requirements:
• Advanced skills in information search (google in English)
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Understanding the principles of statistical analysis is a plus
• The ability to understand Healthcare literature and the methods/needs of the Data Scientist team is a plus
• Understanding the best practices for data management is a plus
• Knowledge of Agile practices is a plus
Programming and Tools Skills Requirements:
• Confident work with tabular data and related tools, such as CSV/Excel
• Experience with scientific data management tools and techniques or information systems is a plus
Soft Skills Requirements:
• Hardworking and committed
• Have the motivation to meet goals/deadlines
• Well-organized and able to work individually and within a team
• The ability to effectively communicate issues and results, verbally and in writing
• Able to multi-task without loss an accuracy
• Willing to learn new approaches and practices (disciplines, methods, standards, software, tools)
