รายละเอียดงาน

The College of Arts and Sciences is excited to announce the 2022 launch of UVA Catalyst, an academic-year program preparing A&S students to translate their academic training into purposeful work and civic engagement. Catalyst offers students dedicated skills training in high-impact areas designed to complement their broader liberal arts education and give them an edge in a competitive job market.

Instructors are needed for 2-credit 'bootcamp'-style courses in a particular skill, application, or tool, with the possibility of developing and teaching the same course multiple times (although instructors need not be able to teach multiple terms). Instructor compensation is $5000 per 2-credit course.

Instructors must have 18 hours of graduate-level coursework completed, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Catalyst bootcamp courses will be taught during the academic year beginning in Fall of 2022, including the possibility of JanuaryTerm offerings, and may be in-person or online, including both asynchronous and synchronous options, depending on program need, course material/content, and instructor preference. Priority will be given to applicants who are able to teach the course over multiple semesters. Teaching times are flexible.

Examples include, but are not limited to, classes on coding; app development; web design; cybersecurity; Marketing/Branding/Storytelling and other non-tech areas.

To apply, please submit an application online through Workday at https://uva.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/UVAJobs and search on requisition number: R0032893. Attach the following documents:
• A cover letter containing: A. A short paragraph describing the course you propose, including learning outcomes. B. C. areas of experience and background relevant to the course, D. demonstrated past experience teaching and mentoring, including courses previously taught.
• Current curriculum vitae.

The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. This position will also require an Education Verification. (FSAKA)
