Job description

Job Title: Sales Assistant

Reports To: Concession Manager

Main purpose of the role: to look after our customers, promote our products, work as a team and eliminate unnecessary loss. Training will be given but seeking information, developing skills and knowledge must be self-driven.

Hours: Part time Weekend work - 13 hours – Permanent

Hourly rate: £9.50 per hour

We specialise in a wide range of Home Furnishings products; bespoke and ready-made Curtains, Blinds, Shutters, Tracks and Poles as well as Dress-making Fabrics, Haberdashery, Knitting Yarns and Crafts.

Responsibilities and Duties for the successful Sales Advisor:
• To put the customer first at all times and to identify customer needs promptly and accurately. To provide advice, present the products and promote all C&H services to customers
• To offer related sales and services in order that the customer is fully aware of the range and to increase the sale value
• To meet customer requirements by accurately calculating, measuring and cutting fabric, checking goods prior to sale and packaging correctly in order to deliver customer satisfaction and reduce unnecessary loss
• To communicate clearly, ensuring customer requests are met by exactly recording details on Special Orders and associated paperwork. Subsequently dealing with any queries and follow up calls when required
• To ensure all stock is clearly and correctly priced
• To clean and tidy sales area in order to maintain a safe working environment
• To respond to customer comments, pass on suggestions and refer complaints immediately in order to resolve matters without delay
• To ensure that all till operation, cash handling procedures and transactions are carried out accurately and all orders and paperwork are completed in accordance with Company Policy

Experience and skills needed to be the successful Sales Advisor:
• Retail experience
• Excellent customer service and approachable
• Quick learner, learn our product
• Organised and punctual

Salary: £10.42 per hour
